Lenormand Card Meanings

07. The Snake Lenormand

7. The Snake

The Snake is the seventh card of the Lenormand and symbolises complications and ulterior motives. It indicates lies, deception, betrayal and manipulation. When this card appears in a reading, it is a warning to watch out for the snake in the grass. The direction The Snake faces in a reading will reveal the target.

The Snake is both charming and dangerous, often signifying our temptations and desires.  The Snake likes to hide in the shadows and its threat comes from its lack of detection. It describes something poisonous, but you may not realise the potency of its venom until it’s too late. The earlier you become aware of The Snake, the less damage it will do.

The Snake as Advice

The Snake comes as a warning. When The Snake appears in a reading, you should keep your cards close to your chest and be careful who you trust. The Snake is here to alert you to the fact that something isn’t right, so the advice is to pay attention and watch where you step. It may also indicate that now is a good time to straighten some things out.

If The Snake represents you, it may be telling you to be flexible or to look at the motives that are driving your actions right now. It may also be advising you to turn on your charm, or to be cautious of who is charming you.
