Interpreting The Lily

The Lily is the thirtieth card of the Lenormand and is a symbol of peace, patience and serenity. It represents calm contemplation, pure intentions, and contentment. The Lily signifies maturity and refers to wisdom derived through age and experience (as opposed to The Book which refers to knowledge obtained through studies). It is a card of ethics, morals, integrity and honour, and it also represents elegance, class, sophistication and good taste.

The Lily can also signify intimacy between loving partners. Whilst The Whip describes more physical or casual relations, The Lily describes the sensual side. The Lily is discreet, modest and private. In some interpretations, it can also signify innocence and virginity.

Anything that matures or grows with age can be described by The Lily. Therefore, it can signify stocks and shares, superannuation funds, and other long-term investments. The Lily describes anything cold, crisp, clean and white. It also symbolises winter, snow, ice, and frost.
