14. The Fox Lenormand

14. The Fox

Interpreting The Fox

The Fox is the fourteenth card of the Lenormand. The Fox is a survivor. Sly and cunning, The Fox’s primary concern is self-preservation. The Fox is prepared to lie, cheat and steal to get ahead and they will crush anyone who stands between them and their goal. When The Fox appears in a reading, it can indicate manipulation, trickery and ulterior motives. However, unlike The Snake who is a hidden threat, The Fox is usually someone you are already wary of.

The Fox symbolises strategy and ambition. It is the card of the hustler. The Fox trusts their instincts and never reveals their true intentions. A fierce competitor, The Fox is crafty, resourceful, and will collect whatever they think can be used as ammunition for their personal advantage. The difference between The Fox and The Snake is that The Snake wants to cause hurt and destruction, whilst The Fox is only concerned about moving their agenda forward. Pain inflicted by The Snake is a personal attack, whilst pain caused by The Fox is collateral damage.

The Fox is often charged as the career card. When this is the case, The Fox becomes a neutral card rather than a negative one. However, if you choose this as your career card, the negative associations can still apply.
